What makes you happy?
For me, it’s all about the moments. At least, I can’t imagine that people are always and constantly happy. It’s a continuous balance between good and bad. Some days you might be happier than others, and that’s okay. Spending time with my loved ones, like my friends and family, or pursuing my hobbies such as football and boxing, makes me happy.
Why are you part of Flags&Family?
I once heard the phrase: "The highest human act is to inspire," and it has stayed with me ever since. That’s why I’m here – to inspire others, to encourage them to do their own thing, to do good, and to wave the flags with us for a better world. Because this movement also started with a spark of inspiration.
What inspires you in life?
I would probably say that it’s certain people who inspire me – especially those who keep going despite all odds, like my own mother.
If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
That we try to show more understanding for each other and put ourselves in the other person’s shoes. In short, I would wish for more empathy.
Which dish could you eat for your entire life?
Aloco! I love Aloco. It’s a dish we eat in Benin. In some other African countries, it’s also called plantain. Basically, it’s fried plantains. You can either eat them just like that with some good ‘Jus de tomate,’ as we call it, or serve them as a side dish with rice. Take me to a deserted island where Aloco is the only thing I can eat, and I’ll definitely be just fine.
Which songs do you have on repeat?
How would the people around you describe you?
I think I bring good energy with me. I’m someone who loves having a good time. Some people know me as a quiet, reserved person who enjoys my own company, while others experience me as very energetic, someone who often jokes around. Both sides are true for me. I love meeting new people. For my friends, I always have an open ear and try to give them the advice they need. I am someone who stays true to my values.
